Upcoming Events

As we pray for God's blessing of the upcoming conference, please also pray:
1)That God may awake more and more local churches to their need for Bible teachers and expository teaching.
2)That God may bless the efforts on oncoming projects regarding a Bible training centre for Chile and Latin America.
3)That Pablo (with his family's support) may have the strength (physical, mental, spiritual, and financial) to finish the current doctoral program, and that the achievement might be of great blessing for Spanish speaking believers.

One of the challenges for Chilean believers (and all believers) is to grow mature in the Lord. That growth will come only as a result of solid, expositional Bible teaching. Bible exposition requires essentials tools. Today, many local churches need to have appropriately trained believers so they can provide substantial spiritual food that will result in consistent and constant spiritual growth.
These photos include a snapshot of the beautiful Patagonia region where Pablo and Cheryl served between 2009 and 2013, and the San Felipe skyline where Pablo and Cheryl are currently living.

Pablo and Cheryl (Rodgers) were commended to the Lord's work in March 2009. Between 2009 and 2013, they served in the Chilean Patagonia, and between 2013 and 2016, in Rosario, in the central zone of Chile. In 2016 Pablo started his Masters degree in Biblical Exegesis at Wheaton College, Illinois, USA. After finishing his Masters, Pablo returned to Chile, where he and his family help with the Lord's work in San Felipe. Pablo is now in the second year of his Ph.D. program in Old Testament Studies with Trinity College Bristol-University of Aberdeen.
Chile is a country in western South America. It occupies a long, narrow strip of land between the Andes to the east and the Pacific Ocean to the west. Chile covers an area of 756,096 square kilometres (comparable in size to Alberta) and has a population of 17.5 million as of 2017. The capital and largest city is Santiago and the national language is Spanish. The largest industries are mining (mainly copper), business services, personal services, manufacturing and wholesale and retail trade.

As we pray for God's blessing of the upcoming conference, let us also pray for mission work happening around the world. Today we're praying for the Lord's work in south India among poor children, widows and fishermen.

Join us to pack shoeboxes to send via Samaritan's Purse! We will also enjoy Christmas cookies after the boxes are packed.
This organisation delivers gift filled shoe boxes to needy children in the 4 corners of the globe as a way of sharing God's love. You can read more about it here:
www.samaritanspurse.ca/operation-christmas-child.aspx
Previously shoeboxes have been distributed in Uruguay, El Salvador, Sierra Leone, Guinea Bissau, Equatorial Guinea, Costa Rica, Guinea, Haiti, Chile (including Easter Island), Senegal, and Ukraine. Last year we sent about 60 shoeboxes from our Lansing Sunday School.
How can you help?
* Please bring a large item for each shoebox you would like to pack.
* We are stocking up on items to send in the shoeboxes. If you have any items you are willing to donate, this would be much appreciated. Items should be new - hygiene items, toys or school supplies are great examples.
* This is a great event for families and children. Invite your friends!
* Please pray that each of the children receiving a shoebox will know God's love in salvation.
